GetFacade vs Housepaint AI, Hover and ColorSnap for painting contractors

A contractor does not need a visualizer to be pretty. It needs to close the job: show the client their own house in the new color, then hand over a number. The four tools below do different halves of that.

Everything here comes from each tool's public pages, read on October 25, 2026. Where a page does not say something, the table says so instead of guessing. Prices and limits change, so check the tool's page before you rely on a row.

How to choose

You sell one paint brand. ColorSnap shows that brand's colors and costs nothing. It will not show a competitor's color, and it does not produce a price.

You want a picture in the client's hands on the first visit. Housepaint AI and GetFacade both start from one photo of the client's house. They differ in what comes after the picture.

You do large jobs and want measured plans. Hover builds a 3D model from a phone scan and prices from it. That is a heavier workflow, aimed at exterior contractors and insurers.

You want the picture, the estimate and a hand-off in one place. This is what GetFacade is for: the design on the client's own house, a materials and labor estimate priced for the region, and an album with renders and material specifications the client keeps and the crew can work from.

What none of them replaces

A screen narrows the choice, a physical sample settles it. Leave one or two sample boards on site and look at them outdoors, next to the roof.

ColorSnap is a free app. Housepaint AI gives new users 5 free credits on its sign-in page. Hover offers a free trial. GetFacade gives the first designs free. Limits differ and change, so check each page.
Not to show a color. A photo is enough for a visualizer. A scan is for measuring and pricing a large job, which is what Hover is built around.
